On the day of statehood, on the May Avenue, which connects the Presidential Palace and Parliament, thousands of people gathered at the traditional "Buenos Aires Celebrates Slovenia" tradition. The celebration began in the Buenos Aires Cathedral in the morning, where Slovenian bishops Andrej Stanovnik and Lojze Urbanč devoted their mass to the homeland. It continued at May Avenue, where all the leading music and dance groups of the Slovenian community were introduced, while guests and passers-by tried typical Slovenian dishes, got acquainted with the Slovenian tourist offer, met the Slovenian societies in Argentina and bought Slovene books. At the central part of the event, attended by senior national and city representatives, the diplomatic corps and representatives of important cultural institutions, the Slovenian anthem was played by Janez Dovč and Boštjan Gombač. The public was welcomed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Buenos Aires Jadranka Šturm Kocjan, the representative of the Buenos Aires government for human rights and cultural diversity, Mercedes Barbara, and the President of the Commonwealth of Slovenia Jure Komar, who presented Slovenia's marijuana through history, highlighted the importance of Slovenian culture and the role of Slovenian communities around the world conservation and strengthening. The dance group Maribor and Mladika presented typical argentine dances in honor of the 200th anniversary of Argentina, while guests from Slovenia - Andrej Podlogar and Blaž Bertoncelj danced the Argentine tango. Maja Keuc is a ignorant soul singer well understood in Slovenia by her act at Slovenia’s Got Talent 2010. The Sounds of Slovenia extend also encompasses publishing albums of adjust traditional and sometimes legitimately vernacular Slovene descant.
